1. Overview
Government Polytechnic College, Hardoi, Aligarh follows the reservation guidelines set by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Board of Technical Education, Uttar Pradesh (BTEUP). The policy ensures fair and inclusive admission opportunities for candidates from various social and economic backgrounds.
2. Category-Wise Reservation
The reservation of seats for admission is as follows:
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 21%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 2%
- Other Backward Classes (OBC - Non-Creamy Layer): 27%
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 5% (within each category)
- Girls’ Quota: 20% (within each category)
- Ex-Servicemen / Wards of Armed Forces Personnel: 5%
- Freedom Fighter Quota: 2%
3. Eligibility for Reserved Seats
- Candidates applying under reserved categories must provide valid government-issued certificates at the time of admission.
- For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, the certificate should be issued within the last six months from the date of admission.
- PwD candidates must provide a valid medical certificate from an authorized government hospital.
- EWS candidates should present an income certificate as per government norms.
- Ex-Servicemen and Freedom Fighter quota applicants must submit relevant documentation from competent authorities.
4. Horizontal Reservation
Some reservations apply across all categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/General), including:
- PwD Candidates – 5% in all categories
- Girls’ Quota – 20% in all categories
- Wards of Defence Personnel & Ex-Servicemen – 5%
- Freedom Fighter Quota – 2%
5. Seat Allocation Process
- Admissions are granted through JEECUP Counselling, where reservation policies are applied during seat allotment.
- Candidates eligible for multiple quotas will be considered under the most beneficial category.
- If reserved seats remain vacant, they may be converted to general category seats as per government guidelines.
6. Documents Required for Reserved Category Admissions
Candidates must submit the following documents during admission:
- Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
- Income Certificate (for EWS and OBC-Non Creamy Layer)
- Medical Certificate (for PwD candidates)
- Ex-Servicemen Certificate/Ward Certificate (for Defence quota applicants)
- Freedom Fighter Certificate (if applicable)
- Domicile Certificate (for state quota candidates)
